10 Most Outspoken Men In Rock And Metal History

8. Corey Taylor

Whether you are a big fan of metal music or not, it's likely that you're familiar with music outlets' obsession with getting Corey Taylor's opinion on absolutely everything.

Mostly known for his role as vocalist for both Slipknot and Stone Sour, Taylor has never been a stranger to upsetting the status quo with controversial or hot takes. When asked about the Nazi salute thrown by Pantera's Phil Anselmo in 2016, Taylor had the following to say:

I don’t have time for people who judge other people by the colour of their skin. If that in itself offends some of my fans, then I’m sorry, you’re wrong.

Taylor continued to say that metal music has a huge problem with racism embedded within the scene. Moving away from social beliefs, Taylor also said that most metal festivals are only headlined by old bands because most newer bands don't have the global fan support required, though cited BFMV and Trivium as bands who are "on the cusp" when talking to The Guardian in 2016.

In the past, Taylor has clashed with a number of musicians including Machine Gun Kelly, Chad Kroeger and Imagine Dragons' Dan Reynolds over his opinions, but his tirades aren't limited to music. In a 2019 interview with The Fader, he called Trump supporters "f*cking morons" and has vocally opposed Trump on multiple occasions since the 2016 US election to the anthem of fan dividing outrage.
