10 Most Overrated Rock Albums Of The 2000s

4. Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace - Foo Fighters (2007)

Dave Grohl can do no wrong in the eyes of his fans. And, even if you're not a fan of him, you'll still regard him as rock royalty. From drumming in the biggest grunge group in the world, to fronting one of the biggest arena bands in the world; this guy has earned his place in the halls of the rock gods. He's not called the 'nicest guy in rock' for no reason, either; constantly inviting audience members on stage to riff out on one of his guitars, before gifting it to them.

But for all that, the Foo Fighters have not been without their duds. Pretender was a huge single. The guitar riff exists in the repertoire of any guitar player worth their salt, and the lyrics were belted out with all the conviction of Best Of You. The album, on the other hand, was awash with derivative alternative rock songs.

For a band with such a pool of raw talent and acquired skill to pull from, it's surprising how dull their music can be. This album, in particular, was formulaic and technically well-crafted, but for the most part it was an uninteresting endeavour...
