10 Most Shocking Moments In Rock Music History

8. Led Zeppelin's Mudshark

You can't really bring up the idea of the rock and roll lifestyle without bringing up Led Zeppelin. Though they were never one for interviews, the backstage escapades of the World's Heaviest Rock Act is the stuff of legend when it comes to excess. However, there's a fine line between excessive and just plain strange.

In between two legs of their tour, Zeppelin were checking into the Edgewater Inn in Seattle, where they demanded the ability to fish right outside of their balcony. At the same time, other members of the group along with management were with groupies and...shall we say...up to a bit of mischief. Looking for something even more thrilling, someone got the bright idea of taking one of the sharks they had recently caught and using it while engaging with their female company.

While one of the members of touring mates Vanilla Fudge claims to have a video of the incident, the management has made sure to clear up any physical evidence of the event taking place. Even in interviews, Robert Plant has remain tight-lipped about it, never really saying a yes or no to whether it actually happened. Regardless of the validity of its whereabouts, the tale of one unfortunate shark will forever be known as the peak of excessive behavior.
