10 Most Underrated Foo Fighters Songs
9. End Over End (2005)
10 years after the unlikely release and success of Foo Fighters' debut record, the band released an equally unexpected double album. Side one was composed of your typical driving rock numbers, but side two was filled with far more laidback, acoustic ballads.
The double album is always a risqué business, artists often get criticised for such endeavours, with accusations of being overly self-indulgent thrown around. But such accusations were unwarranted with this record. Sure, it comes in at a hefty 83:17 minutes long, but the album is split in such a way, that it's easy to tackle each side separately.
The acoustic side is perfectly suited for a lazy drive, but the rock side is full of Foo Fighters classics. Best of You drops in around the mid way point, which is always a pleasure, but it's the later songs that really deserve your attention. Seeing the album out, is the fittingly named End Over End. Grohl exhibits his signature scream, the chorus is heavy with guitar riffs and Taylor Hawkins' drumming is next level. There's a lot to like.
