10 Most Underrated Foo Fighters Songs

6. Marigold - Skin and Bones

Before the Foo Fighters first formed, Dave never really envisioned himself to be that much of a songwriter. Especially when you have a songwriter like Kurt Cobain in your band, your main motivation is usually to just serve the song and get the hell out of the way. When it came to do some acoustic shows though, Dave was able to dust off this little gem from the Nirvana days.

Because technically Marigold isn't even really a Foo Fighters song. For Nirvana superfans, this song was actually featured on the B-side of the Heart Shaped Box single, with the first and only time that Dave sang lead on a Nirvana song. Since this era of the Foos involved Dave getting a little introspective though, this new version of the song helps put the song in context a little bit.

When you first heard it back in the '90s, Dave talking about this imaginary friend that will be there in case he wanders off may have just looked like the drummer trying his best to come up with something coherent. Now with a few hits of his own under his belt, this is a man getting reacquainted with his imaginary friend, who may or may not be a man in a flannel shirt and scruffy blonde hair.
