10 Most Underrated Hard Rock Albums Of The 2000's

1. Echoes Silence Patience and Grace - Foo Fighters

The Foo Fighters were coming off a big endeavor when making Echoes Silence Patience and Grace. After making an ambitious double album with one hard rocking disc and one soft acoustic disc, Dave Grohl had the perfect idea for the band's next course of action: do both together.

Though Echoes Silence Patience and Grace fared pretty well at the time, most people consider it as a pedestrian in the band's catalog, with many singling out "The Pretender" as one of the only good tracks on the record. Even if that song does a great job at kicking the door down, the rest of the record lives up to that one single's reputation.

The blend of soft and loud dynamics on "Let It Die" are done exquisitely, while the radio rock of "Long Road to Ruin" features one of the best singalong choruses of the band's later period. Even lowlights in the track list like "But Honestly" are criminally overlooked, complete with a great buildup that gives way to one of the catchiest riffs that Grohl has ever thought up. This album may have been the bridge to get the band to the garage rock of Wasting Light, but it has certainly earned the mantel of essential listening for any Foos fan.
