10 Most Underrated Heavy Metal Guitarists
1. Jake E. Lee - Ozzy Osbourne
Ozzy Osbourne has had the privilege of working with some truly outstanding guitarists over the years.
In his solo career, he's been backed up by the likes of Randy Rhoads and Zakk Wylde and, of course, he rose up the ranks alongside Tony Iommi in Black Sabbath.
However, there's one name that usually gets left off the list of Ozzy's best collaborators. Until now that is.
Jake E. Lee, which is sadly not his real name, first joined up with the Prince of Darkness in 1982 and appeared on his album Bark at the Moon.
Lee is credited as a writer on the title track and claims that he was denied credit on the rest of it thanks to Osbourne's wife and manager.
SHARRROOOONNNN!
The guitarist then got his credits on the album The Ultimate Sin before getting fired from the band due to internal politics.
In his relatively short time with Ozzy, Lee helped create some of the singer's most memorable solo songs.
If you add this up with the other great work he's done with bands like Badlands and Rough Cutt, then you've got yourself a portrait of a thoroughly underrated rockstar.
