5. The 1975 - Notes On A Conditional Form

As odd as it may feel to throw an album by one of the most listened to and cherished set of performers currently routinely shifting up the industry on the back of each and every record they release onto an "underrated" list, there's no doubting that The 1975's most recent entry quickly fell to the bottom of many a fan and critic's rankings of their overall works so far.

And while their largely experimental odyssey of sound evidently isn't for everyone, there's still at least something to be found for fans of just about every genre known to humankind in Matt Healy and the lads' Notes on a Conditional Form.

Seizing the day with a Greta Thunburg call to arms, things immediately take a turn for the alarming with the riotous People before Frail State of Mind offers up a light garage sensation to sooth you through a sitting. There's still more conventionally sing-a-long-worthy notes in If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know), but the inclusion of Phoebe Bridgers' unmistakable tones in folk-inspired Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America are the sort of inspired twists that give this album more than a reason to be handed a second chance.
