10 Most Underrated Mötley Crüe Songs
9. Nona - Girls Girls Girls
Aside from a song like Home Sweet Home, Motley Crue is never going to be a band known for getting all sentimental on you. Since these are the same guys who made songs like Wild Side and Shout at the Devil, you're not necessarily going to be getting anything that stoops into Barry Manilow's territory or anything. The Crue did have a soft spot for a few people in their life, even if it only lasted for a little while.
In between the debauchery going on throughout most of the Girls Girls Girls album, Nona is the one moment where everything comes to a halt. With an almost gothic texture to the whole thing, this is actually a tribute song to someone that Nikki Sixx had lost along the way. You'd have to go the extra mile if it was just a love that's goes sour, but this goes back further than the days of Sunset.
When Nikki was first starting out his journey as a rocker, Nona was the nickname of his grandmother, who actually helped him when he couldn't fend for himself and was left abandoned by his parents. As much as this thing might stick out like a sore thumb in the track listing, it's nice to see this alternate side of Nikki back in the day. Despite trying his best to look like the devil incarnate, there's still a lot of heart underneath all of those costumes.
