10 Most Underrated Pearl Jam Songs

1. Nothingman - Vitalogy

There's a reason why not a ton of Pearl Jam's '90s work lands on this list all that high. Why you might ask? Well, most of Ten and Vs. have been talked about so much by rock enthusiasts, so why would some other joker on the Internet try to reminder you that a song like Daughter is awesome? If you wanted something that was the definition of a mixed bag though, it would have to be Vitalogy.

Though there are definitely skippable songs on this record, some of the shining lights like Nothingman deserve to go down as one of the greatest songs of the decade. And no, I do not say that lightly. Since grunge was always known to be dark and depressing, this is the kind of song that nearly anyone can relate to, as Eddie details a bitter breakup over just an acoustic guitar and subtle pieces of instrumentation in the background.

Hell, you don't even have to look at it through the lens of a breakup if you don't want to, since the idea of never being able to catch a bolt of lightning is something that everyone goes through with the regrets that they have in life. It might be a little bit down on itself, but the singalong chorus is enough to tell you that whatever darkness comes, you're never truly alone in your fight.
