10 Most Underrated Punk Albums Ever
5. UK Subs - Brand New Age
Much like previously mentioned Peter & the Test Tube Babies, UK Subs were originally panned by critics for arriving on the punk scene a few months too late. UK Subs have certainly silenced the critics since as they are still an active band to this day, despite the fact Charlie Harper (vocalist) is now 76-years-old.
The peak of UK Subs success (much like most other British punk bands) came in the late 70’s and early 80’s, with ‘Brand New Age’ being released in 1980. Following on from the band’s debut album, ‘Another Kind of Blues’, this record hits hard, bringing all the punchy, compact and crazed punk convention the scene had learned to expect.
Key songs from this obviously underrated record include ‘Public Servant’, ‘Warhead’ and possibly the band’s best ever tune, ‘Barbie’s Dead’.
