10 Most Underrated Radiohead Songs
3. I Might Be Wrong - Amnesiac
One minor complaint that people have gone on about over the years is just how much Radiohead fell out of love with traditional rock. Though they do break out the acoustic guitar for the odd track every now and again, their focus has seemed to serve their muse in other genres and leaving the big sounding guitars off to the side. After Kid A, we did get a bit more edge back into the mix with I Might Be Wrong.
To think that this came out of the same sessions as something like Everything In Its Right Place is absolutely mind boggling, especially when you consider the amount of nastiness in the guitar tone. Outside of the regular post grunge stuff they were making in the era of Pablo Honey, this is the most ominous sounding guitar riff that Jonny has ever written, feeling like a mix between alternative and the desert rock scene.
In fact, the entire track feels like it's taking place in the middle of a desert, almost like Radiohead were trying to make a song that would have fit well in some dark Western. Though it's not exactly Clint Eastwood's level, it's still a lot heavier than you would expect out of the guys who wrote something like No Surprises. With all of the elements working together, this is easily the best Queens of the Stone Age song that Josh Homme never actually wrote.
