10 Most Underrated Rock Music Albums Of The 2000s

9. Don't Believe the Truth - Oasis

The entire career of Oasis has always been in the shadow of the music they made back in the '90s. Then again, when you've made albums like What's the Story Morning Glory and Definitely Maybe, it's hard to ask the writer to spark that same type of magic every time they go into the studio. Bands are supposed to expand, and Oasis definitely had some more to say on Don't Believe the Truth.

After a few years of playing with different textures, this is the closest that Oasis came to reclaiming their '90s edge, with songs that were absolutely spellbinding in a live setting, such as Lyla and The Importance of Being Idle. Being one of the first Oasis albums with a more democratic approach to songwriting, the songs on here feel a lot more organic, like Andy Bell's opener Turn Up the Sun and Liam Gallagher bringing some real attitude on The Meaning of Soul.

Up until this point, Oasis never really lost their ability to write hooks. All through albums like Heathen Chemistry, you could still see that Noel Gallagher had the capacity to write better tunes than anyone else in the industry. They just needed to get their swagger back, and this is the kind of attitude that made everyone fall for the Gallaghers back in the day.
