10 Most Underrated Slipknot Songs
1. Pulse of the Maggots
Slipknot have had more than a few songs that could be considered anthems for their fanbase. "Wait and Bleed," "Before I Forget," and "Spit It Out" have all gotten permanent places in the band's live set and could be considered among the greatest songs in modern metal.
However, if there's one song that says it all for the band as a whole, it's got to be "Pulse of the Maggots."
Though not much may seem that out of the ordinary when comparing this song to the rest of Slipknot's catalog, the actual beauty comes in the detailed lyrics that come through. Any Slipknot fan knows that 'Maggot' is the unofficial term used to describe the band's tribe of fans, and this song may as well be their war cry, with the band acting as their feeding ground.
Even though the song may seem ugly on the surface, the actual mission statement is pretty positive, with the key lines "I fight for the ones who can't fight, and if I lose, at least I tried" hitting home for any metalhead.
Some songs from Slipknot's catalog may be a little more easy to digest for fairweather fans, but when it comes to distilling everything great about this band into a single song, you can't do much better than this.
