10 Most Underrated Songs (On Classic Albums)

2. The Camera Eye - Rush

Moving Pictures was a defining moment for prog giants Rush. After spending most of the 70's stretching out their narrative songs to crushing lengths, the tracks on here resulted in massive chart hits that are still jams to this day from "Tom Sawyer" to "Limelight." That didn't the band had lost their love of making longer pieces though.

Centered around the concept of travel, "The Camera Eye" is one of those songs that takes you on a journey every time you listen to it. Inspired by Neil Peart's recent experiences in London and New York, the song is a perfect blend of the band's influences, as the shimmering guitar sounds are complimented by lush keyboard work from Geddy Lee. The sonic headspace created makes you feel like you're in the midst of a busy airport, trying desperately to latch onto all your belongings before you finally come aboard the flight.

Alex Lifeson's guitar work on this track is also severely underrated, with some of his melodic runs done so well they almost feel like they're sequenced together. Once we finally reach our destination, 10 minutes of musical ecstasy have gone past and the listener begins their slow descent back down to Earth.
