10 Most Unexpected Collaborations In Modern Rock

1. Bring Me The Horizon & Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran is like the musical equivalent of a goldfish.

He's inoffensive, he does exact what he needs to do, and lots of people seem to like him. However, when you get down to the nitty gritty, there are way more interesting pets to keep.

Also, they're both orange.

All of this is to say that the Suffolk boy is the last person anybody expected to share studio time with British heavy metal group Bring Me the Horizon. However, in 2022, that's precisely what happened.

It all started at that year's Brit Awards, when Sheeran brought out Oli Sykes and co. to perform a version of his song Bad Habits. Most people wrote this off as a one-off appearance; something special for the awards show crowd.

Then, a week or so later, a studio version of the collaboration was released and everybody sighed.

Any credibility that BMTH might have had left was squandered when they paired up with the epitome of middle of the road. Gone were the days of Shadow Moses and Can You Feel My Heart, breaking the hearts of millions of emos around the world in the process.
