10 Most Unexpected Collaborations In Modern Rock

2. Slash & Fergie/Adam Levine

Releasing in 2010, Slash's debut solo album was a who's who of famous names from across the musical spectrum.

The self-titled release featured contributions from fellow big name rockers like Iggy Pop, Lemmy, and Dave Grohl. It also hosted some lesser known names like Rocco DeLuca and Wolfmother's Andrew Stockdale.

And then there are these two.

The album's third track, entitled Beautiful Dangerous, features vocals from yet another Black Eyed Peas member in the form of Fergie. The singer's sultry style actually fits the sleazy nature of this song to a tee, with Slash delivering some fantastic guitar work in the background.

As for Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine's efforts later on in the album, well...

Levine features on the song Gotten, a slow love ballad. It's... fine, but it's far from the best thing on the album and you would have no idea that Slash was involved unless someone explicitly told you.

Still, the album is a lot of fun with only a handful of songs that aren't worth re-listening to. However, let's just say there's a reason Slash chose Fergie to cover Paradise City for the special edition and just leave it there.
