10 Most Violent Music Videos Of All Time

8. Yeah Yeah Yeahs €“ Y Control

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcjPFAV1foU What's more shocking than violence? Seeing children committing it. The video for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs 2004 single Y Control (released from their debut album Fever To Tell) is like a twisted tribute to George Romero. It begins with a bunch of kids looking bored and apathetic, interspersed with shots of them grabbing weapons (everything from baseball bats to axes) and beginning their rampage. Things start grim as the kids senselessly beat the corpse of a dog, chop off each other's limbs and generally smash stuff up, but it gets a whole lot worse. The close of the video contains a shot of a young girl pulling the intestines from the torso of a similarly young boy, reminiscent of something from Dawn Of The Dead. The entire thing is shot with a dark and grainy aesthetic, upping the gore from shocking to genuinely creepy. Despite its disturbing nature, the video is brilliantly directed by none other than Spike Jonze.
