10 Music Artists Who Absolutely Hate Each Other

3. Axl Rose and Kurt Cobain

When grunge first arrived on the scene, it felt like the polar antithesis to what had been shoved down the throats of rock fans for years. After seeing one placid hair metal band after another on MTV, something a lot more down to Earth like Nirvana made Kurt Cobain the breath of fresh air from the big tough guys of rock and roll. The only people who weren't as thrilled were...well...the big tough guys of rock and roll.

Despite not being with the hair metal crowd, Guns N Roses frontman Axl Rose developed a real distaste when Kurt Cobain slandered him for his misogyny and misfit image in his videos. Though Axl had originally liked Nirvana's Nevermind, the press junket saw him bashing them whenever he could, which ended up coming back around when MTV came calling.

During Nirvana's stint on the MTV Awards, Kurt managed to tear the entire stage apart, all while Dave Grohl walked up to the mic and did a mock fanboy impression of Axl while Rose was just offstage. Even with Axl threatening to kick Cobain's ass, Kurt always took it in stride, thinking that it was the equivalent of a grown man pretending to be the school bully in front of his peers. Regardless of whether Axl has fully grown up or not at this point, it seems that he still had some mixed feelings about the new school making a name for themselves.
