10 Music Easter Eggs You Never Realised Were In Famous Albums
3. Tool Lateralus
In what is easily the most complex easter egg on this list, American rock band Tool play around with the Fibonacci sequence, numbers that follow an integer sequence. What does that mean exactly? The Fibonacci numbers begin 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13...with subsequent numbers being the sum of the two previous.
So how does this relate to Tool? In their album Lateralus, the title track refers to the Fibonacci spiral (through the lyrics spiral out) which is a shape created when plotting the opposite corners of squares in Fibonacci tiling. Not only that, but the lyrics of the song follow this same sequence through the number of syllables in each line.
