10 Music Videos That Could Be Horror Movies
4. Millington - Being
Millington’s video is a more perverse take on the Beauty and the Beast trope, recently used successfully in 2017’s The Shape of Water. Where Being exerts its depravity is by having the human woman fall for a creature with little to no anthropomorphic traits.
It opens with a woman depressed at a speed dating event, whose spirits are lifted when she is paired up with a weird insectoid creature somewhere between a lobster and a head louse.
In a genuine gross-out moment, viewers are subjected to the creature mounting the woman in bed. The two passionately kiss with her tongue and his antennae slapping against each other.
After a drug-fuelled night out, the woman wakes up in an ice bath with a bloody surgery scar down her abdomen. At hospital, the horror moves outside the relationship when a surgeon opens the wound. A flock of flying insects swarm out and swiftly slaughter everybody in the hospital.
The video’s conclusion is where a new
horror pandemic begins. Flying insects are unleashed on the population,
inflicting gory death on any living thing in their path. This could carry on
into a full creature feature which could be played for either B-movie terror or
laughs.
