10 Musical Reunions That Were A Disaster
1. Eagles
Most people wouldn't consider the Eagles as being anything less than chilled out rockers. Across their entire discography, the mellower side of rock that these Californian musicians laid down became the soundtrack of the '70s to a whole generation of listeners. Though the '80s signaled their end, that proved to only be the start of the ugliness.
After a disastrous show at a charity event led to Don Felder abruptly quitting and fighting with Glenn Frey onstage, everyone retreated to their own solo careers, with Don Henley and Joe Walsh having the most success. Once the classic rock nostalgia started to pick up steam though, the group reunited for the aptly named Hell Freezes Over live album, which showed them putting together a few new tracks to accompany their old body of work. Once it came down to numbers though, Felder ended up getting cold feet yet again.
When reading through the financial statements, Felder was unhappy with the amount of money he was making compared to Frey and Henley, who served as the main songwriters of the group. Failing to sign the contract in time, Felder decided to depart from the Eagles permanently. As much as Felder could be seen as money-hungry, Henley has also had his fair share of problems in the public eye, looking more and more like a disgruntled grandpa trying to get as much money out of his music as he can. So who's right and who's wrong? It's up to you to decide.
