10 Musical Reunions That Were A Disaster

6. Black Sabbath

Most bands don't really have the smoothest of transitions when letting go of band members. No matter how much you might have their best intentions at heart, it's never a pleasant thing to be asked to leave the fold. Then again, you'd think that you'd at least have some kind of camaraderie even after years apart.

When Black Sabbath decided to let go of Ozzy Osbourne, they managed to pull off the unthinkable by getting a one of a kind vocalist in Ronnie James Dio. Though Ozzy himself moved on to a stellar solo career of his own, the thought of reuniting the classic Sabbath always lingered in the minds of rock fans, especially when Sabbath decided to play at Ozzfest in the late '90s without Ronnie at the helm. At the start of the '00s, the Birmingham heavyweights were supposedly in talks to make a new record with Rick Rubin, only to have Osbourne flake out after his commitments to the Osbourne TV show.

Seeing the opportunity to reunite the Dio-led Sabbath, Iommi and co. formed Heaven and Hell and went on tour before Ozzy came back to the fold. As opposed to the classic lineup though, legendary drummer Bill Ward failed to re-enter the group after business statements were let out saying he wasn't getting proper compensation for his performances, all while dodging headlines in the press with Ozzy suggesting he was too overweight to perform. While the Sabbath train has fully come to a stop just a few years ago, it wasn't the sunniest of times getting to that point.
