10 Musicians Who Almost Joined The Wrong Band

4. Mark Storace - AC/DC

AC/DC's loss of Bon Scott was one of the heaviest blows they could have been dealt. Not only had Scott had an undeniable charisma and snarl, but he was also a key contributor to every song the band had penned.

Determined not to let the band die with him, brothers Angus and Malcolm Young promptly searched for singers to fill the spot that Bon had left vacant. Their first choice for a singer was Mark Storace, who was making waves in the hard rock scene with the band Krokus. In a shocking turn of events, Storace outright refused to collaborate with the Young brothers, thinking that he would fare better with his home band.

While this may seem like a strange move in hindsight, Storace explained later that the idea of AC/DC having a future without Bon Scott seemed absolutely ridiculous at the time. Add to that the fact that Krokus was finally seeing success and you really start to understand Storace's logic.

As we all know, the band quickly found a replacement for Scott in screamer Brian Johnson, with whom they created the ultimate comeback album in Back in Black. Though AC/DC went from strength to strength after Scott's death, the future of the band with Mark Storace is now lost to history.
