10 Musicians Who Should Release More Music
1. Van Halen
In their heyday, there wasn't any other band who could hold a candle to Van Halen. From one record to the next, the band's studio output remained some of the most forward looking rock and roll ever to be released at the time. While one track to the next may have been worth your time, it's a crime that we haven't been able to see any new material come from Eddie's fretboard.
At the same time, the band have had a bit of a complicated relationship with both David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar respectively, but their decision to lay dormant feels like one of the greatest missed opportunities in all of rock and roll. Sure, there may be some bad blood in between both camps, but can't we just let it go and give the fans what they really want to hear?
Granted, Van Halen really belongs to Eddie and Alex, but no new music for over 8 years is the equivalent of watching one of the greatest guitarists in the world sit on his hands. The internal struggles of the band may be a bit too much to unpack at this time, but for the love of everything rock and roll, let one of the last living guitar gods in the studio to do what he does best.
