8. The Ladder - Andrew Belle
There are very few male artists with voices as fascinating as Andrew Belle's. It has a beautifully haunting sound to it. His voice works with his style, though, in an inexplicable way. It just works. Belle focuses on relationships - not just romantic, though. His observations of life are clear in his lyrics, as he writes from the bottom of his heart. His passion for music is so obvious from the second his song begins; the moment you hear his voice, you understand the honesty behind every word. Belle's emotions are so easily detectable in the fragility of his voice that just one song can take you on a journey. Not only is Belle's voice captivating, but his lyrics are honest and dedicated. He does not write storylines with underlying meaning (see Benjamin Gibbard); rather, he writes strictly from the heart. What he feels is what he says. This simplistic approach to songwriting pays off. Check out 'Static Waves (ft. Katie Herzig)' off of Andrew Belle's album The Ladder. http://youtu.be/9d992LR_uNM
