8. HAIM
Though they've only really come into their own and broken the mainstream in the last year or so, HAIM are one of those bands that are hard to dismiss and even harder to dislike. Almost more 1983 than 2013, but with a nod to 2023, this California girl-power trio of sisters have made their name through their enigmatic fusion of Fleetwood Mac-esque rock 'n' roll and contemporary TLC-style R&B and draw from a wide range of influences from throughout the ages. They're effectively a kooky little mixture of all the greats but equally, they're among the most unmistakable bands around today. They're the best of every world. They may still only be finding their feet in the big wide world that is music industry, but HAIM have quickly cemented themselves a place among the ranks of the best groups around right now. All three sisters are masters of more than one instrument, giving them absolutely no reason to hold back on their début album 'Days Are Gone', a stunning effort which was released in September of this year to universal rave reviews and hit the Top 10 in 6 countries across the world. HAIM have gatecrashed the music scene in a big way, and it's clear to see that their party's only just getting started.
