7. Arcade Fire
Arcade Fire have been abusing the worthless genre boundaries of modern rock music since day one. What makes them so great is that it's so difficult to slap a label on them - they're sort of like indie-garage-rock-dance-electro-neo-classical or something along those lines. Canada's finest musical export have been hailed by some as the best band of the last 10 years, and their début album, 2005's absolutely mesmerising 'Funeral', is dubbed by many as one of the best albums of all time. They're bonafide gods in the music world, sitting right at the top of the pile with some of true giants of the musical age. Between their classical backdrops, world-weary lyrics and irresistibly catchy melodies, Arcade Fire can do no wrong. They're constantly evolving as a band and re-defining their sound, each time coming back with something fresher and more impressive than before - something very few bands have ever managed to do successfully. They've achieved unanimous near-perfect reviews with every album they've released, and are renowned for their energetic and eclectic live shows. Unaffected by the stream of manufactured nonsense pouring into our charts, Arcade Fire have remained true to themselves and continue to produce amazing music time after time.
