10 Nineties Songs That Sold Over 1 Million Copies

5. Run D.M.C. Vs Jason Nevins - It's Like That

First released in 1983, Run DMC's 'It's Like That' did relatively well the first time around. The group were praised for the positive message despite the negative portrayal of their local neighborhood. The debut track went to #15 in the US Billboard Charts and the group went on to change the course of Hip Hop forever. But it wasn't until American producer Jason Nevins got his hands on the record that this song broke into the mainstream.

The remix made waves across Europe, taking the #1 spot in fourteen countries. Nevins' take on the original gained notoriety in the UK after ruining the Spice Girls' consecutive number one streak. Racking up a staggering 1,250,000 sales against the meager 420,200 that the Spice Girls managed to sell.

Nevins went on to have a very successful career after the release. He continued to work with hip hop acts such as Cyprus Hill and Insane Clown Posse before moving on to bigger and better things. Most recently he has worked with Ariana Grande and produced songs for The Voice US.
