10 Notable Artists With Incomplete Catalogs On Spotify

7. Jay-Z

Jay-Z is not only considered to be one of the greatest MCs of all time, but he has also proven to be one of hip-hop's most successful performers, almost 22 years since the release of Reasonable Doubt. As if the sales numbers themselves don't prove it, Jay-Z is also one of the few arena-level hip-hop artists remaining today.

Unfortunately, albums like Hard Knock Life, Life And Times Of S. Carter, The Black Album and The Blueprint 3 are nowhere to be found on Spotify. This is presumably due to the Brooklyn native's affiliation with Spotify competitor TIDAL. However, Jay-Z appearances on other artists' releases (e.g. Justin Timberlake, Drake, Beyoncé) can be found on there, as can his collaboration with the band Linkin Park. This means that you can still hear hits like Ni**as In Paris, Big Pimpin', Jigga, 99 Problems, and Encore, although it may not be version that you are familiar with from the radio.

The latest release from Jay-Z is 2017's 4:44. Put out by Roc Nation and the Universal Music Group, 4:44 was initially exclusive in the United States to customers of Sprint and Tidal. It featured collaborations with Frank Ocean, Damian Marley, wife Beyoncé, The-Dream, and James Fauntleroy. It became his 13th consecutive studio album to reach #1 on the Billboard charts and received several Grammy nominations.
