10 Noughties Pop Songs You'd Forgotten You Loved

3. Outkast - "Hey Ya"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWgvGjAhvIw The US hip-hop duo Outkast released their single 'Hey Ya' in 2003, and instantly became a household name. People the globe over were shaking it "like a Polaroid picture". Using the names their mothers gave them, Big Boi and André 3000 produced a tune that is guaranteed to be played in radio throwback playlists and 13-year-old birthday parties alike. 'Feel-good' is the perfect description for this song, which combines poppy synth and a retro xylophone. Those who can't remember rocking out to this were probably overdoing it at the time; it's a song of universal happiness and optimism. A feel good noughties classic if ever there was one.
