https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMXeZWv6AS0 Despite being credited as a major influence in the development of heavy metal, hard rockers Mountain were never to achieve much success on the charts, even when heavy metal was burning them up. (Contrasting their success with Black Sabbath is an exercise in serious bumming.) But hey, at least 10 percent of current rock music fans have heard of "Mississippi Queen." That...has to be a consolation, right? (Although they likely only know that because the song was featured in a Rock band game.) Mountain deserves a better legacy than that. At worse, they at least deserved a second hit song. They were experts at mixing blues and hard rock, sounding like a looser Foghat with a pinch of Grand Funk Railroad thrown in for good measure. And if that doesn't sound like a winning combination, then you're clearly an insane person. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8ZbOO9V0ak
