6. The Rolling Stones
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6t9KMw7SLY4 It's well-known that tickets to see the World's Oldest Band are expensive. Usually well over £100, the wrinkly rockers do well to empty out the wallets of their all-too-loyal fanbase, but they still know how to put on a show. Even the very basics of taking a childrens choir wherever they go to help them on 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' gets pricey, but makes all the difference. Video animations aplenty, a host of backing musicians to make up for/help Keith Richards and co., plus fireworks whenever they go outdoors, it's all very tasteful and crowd-pleasing - albeit very 'safe' for a rock concert. What is a nice touch though, is the often-HUGE stage they employ for the gigs. Having rented out aircraft hangars just to rehearse in before now, the band often have setups that get on for 100ft in height, with vast, outstretching lighting panels and screens lining the whole way. For the 'Bigger Bang' tour, the stage even had balcony portions that, for a sizeable fee you could get a ticket for, providing once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for many die hards to share the stage with the Stones. For the main part of that show, the stage even opened up to reveal a gigantic model of the band's legendary tongue logo, reclaiming it as a musical icon rather than just a t-shirt design. The band never do things by halves, and with all the bells and whistles aiding Mick Jagger's flamboyance and Keith Richards' tendency to tumble off stage at any point, a Rolling Stones gig is about as exciting as it can get.
