10 Overlooked Masterpiece Songs By Legendary Hard Rock Bands

8. AC/DC - Shake A Leg

Following the tragic death of lead singer Bon Scott, AC/DC recruited Brian Johnson, regrouped and came back with a critically acclaimed album, 1980's Back In Black.

Topping '79s Highway To Hell seemed like a big ask, but Back In Black broke a host of records, becoming AC/DCs biggest commercial success. It must have been a bittersweet time - the album's black cover a sign of mourning over Scott's death. There are many classic tracks present on this record, several of which would become beloved fan favourites, but Shake A Leg deserves more of the limelight than it gets.

The song has everything you want from an AC/DC number - snarling vocals, thumping drums, crashing guitars and power to spare. With its swaggering, yet upbeat, message of defiance, heavy riffs and in-your-face sound, Shake A Leg could be the quintessential AC/DC track. According to Brian Johnson, Back In Black's producer, 'Mutt' Lange, demanded absolute perfection, recording take after take throughout the album's development. It must have driven the band to exasperation, but no one could argue with the results.
