10 Overly Hated Musicians In Rock History

7. Axl Rose - Guns N Roses

When compared to the other bands coming out of LA during the late '80s, Guns N Roses were really a breath of fresh air. Whereas acts like Warrant and Winger were staying way too long at the party, every single aspect of GNR felt like a gang, with their songs being almost like street weapons to blow away their competition. After they tasted success though, Axl Rose got an ego to him....A BIG ONE.

Across the Use Your Illusion tour cycle, there were countless rumors of Axl cutting concerts short or not even showing up at all when the time called for it. Even when the rest of the band left in protest, that didn't go anywhere, which left many potentially great GNR shows ending in riots. For as much Axl has tested our collective patience though, the performer that we know and love is still in there somewhere.

Despite having some pretty rough years during the promotion cycle for Chinese Democracy, Axl seems to be cleaning up his act a little more with the latest reunion tours, as well as shortening his wait times for shows.

Hell, even with the painful wait times back in the day, Axl always delivered once he arrived, giving some of the greatest rock stars of all time a run for their money in the process.

Despite all of the shakeups that have happened over the years, the raw charisma in something like Welcome to the Jungle has made Axl Rose one of rock and roll's favorite headaches.
