10 Overrated Hard Rock Albums Of The '90s
1. Oasis - (What's The Story) Morning Glory? (1995)
If you're upset with the inclusion of Mancunian britpop act Oasis' sophomore album on this list, feel free to replace it with any one of their albums because they're all several shades of terrible.
How we allowed ourselves as a society to have Oasis defeat Blur in The Battle of Britpop should be the subject of a national inquiry. The Gallagher family circus followed up their equally unfathomably popular debut 'Definitely Maybe' with what became one of the best-selling albums in UK history, certified 16x platinum in Blighty with a further 4x platinum in the US.
Critics were initially nonplussed about the album, with comments such as "Oasis are a limited band ... they sound knackered" and "phony Beatlemania" before society lost the plot and they changed their minds.
Liam outright, cannot sing. His nasally, discount Robbie Williams drawl should be nowhere near the long vocal lines of "Wonderwall" - a song I'm happy to go the rest of my life never hearing again - the opening of "Some Might Say" sounds like "Teenage Kicks" played at half-speed, and the whole album is the same 3 songs played over and over again with all the creativity of porridge made with water.
