10 Overrated Rock Music Acts Of The 2010s
1. Catfish And The Bottlemen
Catfish aren't that bad. They do write catchy melodies, their lyrics can be clever and they have the look, but, and this is a big but, they just don't deserve the adulation that's consistently thrown at them.
This could be remedied if they knew how to capitalise on their hits by following them up with albums that contained half decent tracks. All the hype surrounding them, in the early days, was mainly around their persona. They had the swagger, the look, the accents and they could play, but they don't seem to give as much attention to their albums as they do their singles.
And let's be fair, they have some great singles but they don't have the chops to create genre defining records. People seemed to regard them as the band to save British rock, but they haven't released a body of work anywhere near as good as Arctic Monkeys, Biffy Clyro or Foals.
It would take just one blinder of an album and these guys might start deserving all the praise. They need to take a little more time filling those records with songs that don't feel like they've been included to get the track count up.
