10 Pairs Of Famous Rock Albums That Came Out On The Same Day

6. Rust In Peace - Megadeth & The Razor’s Edge - AC/DC

By September 24th 1990, AC/DC were considered old hat. They'd had their heyday in the late 70s and early 80s, but they'd hit a creative wall several years prior, and it was probably time for them to wind down and enjoy a nice bit of rest.

Actually, scratch that, because they've just released Thunderstruck.

Serving as the opening song and lead single to their album The Razor's Edge, Thunderstruck breathed new life into the aging rockers, catapulting them back into the public eye for the first time in a while and doing so in style.

Metalheads must thought Christmas had come early, because not only were AC/DC back in business, but thrash gods Megadeth had also put out something new! Rejoice!

Rust in Peace, the band's fourth studio release, hit audiences like a neutron bomb, pulling together strands from the previous three albums to create the group's most complete record yet.

It was heralded as a masterpiece at the time and still often appears in lists of the best thrash albums or best metal albums overall. It's safe to say September 1990 was a very loud month indeed.
