10 Perfect 1990s Rock Albums With No Bad Songs

5. Parklife - Blur

Once the Britpop movement kicked into full swing, it felt like the entire grunge revolution had become a relic of the past. Why should we have anything to complain about like those dudes from Seattle when were busy throwing it back to the glory days of the '60s? Then you had bands like Blur that were showing us that that darkness wasn't over completely on Parklife.

There are a few people probably scratching their heads about having something cynical in a song like Girls and Boys....but have you listened to this album lately? Aside from the throwback sounds of the '60s on some of these songs, Damon Albarn's lyrics are a lot more dark and dour than you probably remember, like Tracy Jacks talking about a man losing his mind and End of the Century detailing a perfect couple who have become completely desensitized.

On first glance, this is the kind of album that you can throw on and shut your brain off to. Once you take the deeper dive though, this is the Kinks if they were far more cynical, going for a look at middle class Britain that has a lot more problems than many were willing to admit. You may think that everything is normal, but as Albarn would tell you himself, it's just so overrated.
