10 Perfect Beatles Songs With No Flaws

1. Abbey Road Medley - Abbey Road

For some of the more dyed in the wool Beatles' fans, you'd probably be wondering why something like a Day in the Life wouldn't top a list like this. After all, what could be better than the songwriting partnership of Lennon/McCartney finally reaching its peak, which has gone on to become one of the greatest songs in rock history? That's just one side of the Beatles' story though. A Day in the Life was the peak of the Lennon/McCartney' partnership's time together, but the flip side of Abbey Road is the peak of the entire band as musicians.

When they first went in to create Abbey Road, the goal was to give the fans one last great album to end their career off with, featuring an extravaganza of songs on the back half. Although any of the songs on the first side of the record could be contenders for the greatest song they ever made, it was almost an act of accidental genius to put together all of these unreleased songs together into one suite. While none of these songs have anything to do with each other lyrically, the musical connections between them give you a good taste of everything the band was capable of.

In between the balladry of You Never Give Me Your Money, you have the inner peace of Sun King, the bluesy dirge of Mean Mr. Mustard, and finally bringing the Beatles era of music to a close with Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/ and The End, with Paul saying that the love you take is equal to the love you make. The Beatles were already bound to go down as some of the greatest musicians rock and roll had to offer, but this final farewell felt like experiencing their entire career in just under 20 minutes.
