10 Perfect Hard Rock Albums Of The 2000s

8. In Your Honor - Foo Fighters

One of the usual complaints that most rock fans have about Foo Fighters is just how repetitive they tend to sound. As much as their songs might be perfect for the radio rock format, it can get a bit much having to hear the same type of stadium chant song over and over again. As it turns out, Dave Grohl felt the same way and tried to give us a different taste of Foo on In Your Honor.

Being the only double record that the band ever released, this isn't your typical structure that you'd find on most double albums. Whereas the first disc is a well above average mix of the traditional rock and roll you'd find on a Foos album, the second disc is where things start to pick up again, going for a lot more mellow mood that what we were used to.

After going through some pain in his personal life, Dave Grohl actually managed to assemble a different mix of acoustic songs, which go over a lot smoother than you'd think. Outside of the strumming ballads on songs like Miracle, you also have something like On the Mend, which seems to exist in a world of its own apart from any other Foo Fighters song. Although we would get to see how the Foos combined their strengths on the next album, this was a good look at just how much diverse material the guys were capable of.
