10 Perfect Hard Rock Albums With No Bad Songs

1. The Black Album - Metallica

The early years of Metallica are practically a treasure trove for any casual fan of metal music. Their entire run throughout the '80s makes for one of the most consistent runs of albums released by any band, metal or otherwise. But that's the metal side of the spectrum. If we're talking the hard rock version of Metallica, every single song on The Black Album is pretty much bulletproof.

Despite what the fanboys say about Metallica selling out around this time, this record is one of the greatest hard rock releases of the '90s, turning Metallica from underground gods to one of the biggest names in music. It's not that hard to see why either, considering any one of these songs has the potential to be a hit on its own. Outside of the tender moments like The Unforgiven or Nothing Else Matters, every song on this record doesn't let up, from the classic thrash of Through the Never to the haunting opening of Enter Sandman.

Also, anyone who thinks that Metallica were selling out at this point needs to give a reevaluation to Sad But True, which might be one of the heaviest riffs in metal history. While some may claim that Metallica just became the ambassadors of heavy music with the Black Album, you should consider yourselves lucky if your "sellout" album sounds as good as this.
