10 Perfect Metal Albums With No Bad Songs
3. Screaming for Vengeance - Judas Priest
Out of all the metal pioneers back in the day, Judas Priest deserved the title of the first true metal band. Though some bands like Sabbath and Zeppelin never identified with the term, Priest were the first ones to become card-carrying metal ministers, with albums like British Steel setting them up for a career of decadence. With the new school coming in though, they proved to have even more tricks up their sleeve in the '80s.
While the first handful of Priest albums in the '70s dealt with them trying to find their proper sound, things never reached full capacity until Screaming for Vengeance, with every note blaring out of the speakers from the word go. As soon as you're dropped into the song the Hellion, you're sold for the entire thing, with songs ranging from intensely fast speeds to lowdown and dirty metal dirges.
If you consider yourself a fan of any kind of metal music, chances are that there's one song on here that you can get behind, whether it be the swagger behind Bloodstone, the Wicked Witch of the West vocals on Riding on the Wind, or the straight up pop metal hybrid on You've Got Another Thing Coming. Even in an era when the likes of Iron Maiden and Megadeth were just on the horizon, it took the real professionals to show you how to really blow away a crowd.
