Out of all the metal pioneers back in the day, Judas Priest deserved the title of the first true metal band. Though some bands like Sabbath and Zeppelin never identified with the term, Priest were the first ones to become card-carrying metal ministers, with albums like British Steel setting them up for a career of decadence.
