10 Perfect Music Albums That Defined The 2010's

2. When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go? - Billie Eilish

Towards the midpoint of the 2010's, there was no real idea of what the next trend was going to be. As stars like Drake tried to put together albums more like playlists to boost his streams, it felt like the entire music scene had become more like a business now than ever before. Things may have seemed stale at first...and then a teenager managed to scare the entire scene to death out of nowhere.

Granted, is Billie Eilish's When We All Fall Asleep all that scary? Not really. From the sounds of it, this is definitely unsettling on songs like Bad Guy and You Should See Me In A Crown, but the mood is a lot more sinister than something that you would get out of death metal or anything. No, the real people who are scared of an album like this has got to be the higher ups at record companies that are looking towards the bottom line.

Here is a girl that made most of her album with her brother out of her bedroom, and it has so much more heart than anything else out at the time. If you listen to something like When the Party's Over, there is nothing to hide behind here...this is just raw pain put together in a song. Though some of the breakout stars of the early 2010's may be falling by the wayside at this point, Billie Eilish is a good sign of where music could be going in the next few years.
