10 Perfect Rock Albums Of The '70s

2. Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin

What...you thought that we were going to go through some of the greatest albums of the '70s and somehow not put a Zeppelin record on the list? After all, these are the guys who basically made the '70s rock scene what it is, with every single member being the top tier players of their respective instruments. The only problem would be which album to put here, but if you want a healthy dose of everything Zeppelin, Physical Graffiti checks all the boxes.

Compared to the distinct identities of every one of their self titled releases, Physical Graffiti is the one record that could satisfy nearly every single Zeppelin fan. Is it a touch on the bloated side? Maybe, with some of the songs reaching past the 10 minute mark. Then again, this is a band who can certainly deliver on that kind of victory lap, with every song having a subtle piece of that magic, from the blues thunder of In My Time of Dyin to the delicate acoustic passages of Bron Yr Aur.

There are even songs that hint at things that no one knew Zeppelin were capable of at this point, like the epic scope of Kashmir or the majesty behind a track like Ten Years Gone. Despite their stellar career up until this point, this is still the Holy Bible for every fan of heavy rock.
