10 Perfect Rock Albums Ruined By One Bad Song

9. Kid A - Radiohead

At the time of its release, Kid A by Radiohead wasn't just an album...it was a statement of intent. After being heralded as the band that would lead rock into the next millennium, here was a collection of songs that devled further into experimental territory and left the era of the Bends and OK Computer in the dust. Even though most of the record lived up to its high expectations, the same couldn't be said for the title track.

Whereas most of the glitchy production of songs like Idioteque and Everything In Its Right Place sounded revolutionary at the time, this feels more like a bird's eye view of a day in the studio where everyone was testing out the equipment. The story of how the track came to be is pretty intriguing though, with the computerized vocals being the product of Thom Yorke talking into the microphone and forming those words into melodies.

A good story doesn't always make for the best song though, and the end result just sounds dated as all hell by today's standards. Just try listening to this one back after a while and tell me that you can't imagine Thom just droning these lyrics through a speaker in a McDonald's drive thru. Then again, when you have something as revolutionary as Kid A on your hands, you sometimes have to take the good with the bad.
