10 Perfect Rock Albums With No Bad Songs

2. Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd

There's no reason to believe that an album like Dark Side of the Moon doesn't belong on a list like this. The legendary status of the prism symbol alone is enough to cement it in people's consciousness forever. Then again, Pink Floyd managed to answer the one question that we all contemplate from our rock stars: what do you do after you've hit the ceiling?

While not trying to hide behind Dark Side's aura, Wish You Were Here presents an entirely new look for the band, informed by their time in the spotlight. Spanning just 5 tracks, this should be mandatory listening for anyone who's even thinking about breaking into the music industry, with songs like Have a Cigar and Welcome to the Machine showing the manufactured aspects of the business.

That's just the sidenote of the album though. Where the album really shines is in their tributes to Syd Barrett, who had departed the band due to increasing problems with his mental health. Outside of the monumental epics like they made on the Wall or even Dark Side, the entire suite of Shine On You Crazy Diamond may be up there as one of the most haunting things that Floyd has ever been a part of. For as many people like to grandstand on their records, Pink Floyd figured out that if you wanted the world on your side, you had to show that you were still human.
