10 Perfect Rock Frontmen Of The 90s
8. Liam Gallagher - Oasis
The minute that grunge started to take over MTV, it was pretty clear that the days of classic rock and roll were over. When you saw a band like Soundgarden or Pearl Jam onstage, there was no reason to go back to the Sunset Strip or anything any time soon. As grunge started to die off though, the good times came rolling right back in with a man that looked like he was ripped straight out of the '60s.
While it's no secret that the Gallagher Brothers took massive inspiration from the Beatles, Liam Gallagher practically did his best to look like a reincarnation of John Lennon, with endless amounts of charisma radiating just beyond his wire rim glasses. As timeless as his brother Noel's songs were, it was Liam who turned them into classic tunes, having a slightly punk sounding delivery and a massive amount of power behind his voice that could reach the top of the rafters.
Even when taking to the stage, Liam put his voice through the ringer loads of times, often reaching into the top of his range and giving the world some of the greatest performances of the decade on songs like Slide Away. It may not look like he's doing much onstage, but there's more going on than people realize. He's not be running around like every frontman, and that's because he's doesn't need to to hook your soul.
