10 Perfect Rock Music Albums Of The 2010s

9. Neighborhoods - Blink 182

Most of the hardcore Blink 182 fans have washed their hands of this album in the past few years. As much as the idea of a Tom Delonge fronted version of the band seemed like a great idea in the early 2010's, the memories surrounding Neighborhoods are a lot more spotty than people were hoping for. If Blink had decided to stay the course though, this could have been the start of something even more ambitious.

Taking the lessons that Tom learned in Angels and Airwaves to heart, this feels like a true hybrid of where Blink was at the time, making songs that were equally informed by punk as they were pulling from goth, electronica, and even pop in some respects. Whereas the first handful of Blink albums had wisps of bands like NOFX in their delivery, this sounds like the guys have pulled from bands like The Cure, especially when going for more atmospheric songs like Fighting the Gravity and MH 4.18.2011.

Then again, it makes sense that Blink don't really like revisiting this era of the band all that much, considering they were recording in separate studios and were barely talking towards the end of the experience. On the other hand, it's better to have an amazing experiment like this in your catalog than just sitting back and wondering what could have been.
