10 Perfect Rock Music Albums Of The 2010s
2. I Like It When You Sleep - The 1975
The idea of the genre 'pop rock' has basically become obsolete at this point. I mean, if acts like Imagine Dragons or Maroon 5 have taught us anything, it's that pop rock is just a nice name for bands that were rock at one point and then decided to sell out. When you hit that sweet spot though, you're in for one of the greatest albums of your career.
Such is the case with the 1975, who catapulted themselves into rock superstars on I Like It When You Sleep. While the full elongated title of this album is a little much for some people to take in, the amount of quality tunes on here is enough to keep you coming back for more. Outside of the stand out singles like Love Me! and Loving Someone, there's a lot more heartfelt material beyond the '80s pastiches, especially when going into the realm of R&B like on the track If I Believe You.
This record definitely can't be considered heavy by any stretch, but at the same time it doesn't really need to. This is the kind of album that you throw on and sink into its vibe, where it can occasionally break your heart on songs like Paris. One minute you'll find yourself just drifting in between the headphones, and the next you'll be crying your eyes out because Change of Heart founds its way into your soul.
